When there is high conflict between parents after a separation or divorce, I provide case management services through parallel parenting. High conflict challenges include drop-offs/pickups, communication, making shared decisions, etc. Parallel parenting is an arrangement in which separated/divorced parents can co-parent by means of disengaging from one another and have limited communication in a respectful manner. I will help parents establish firm boundaries and remove much of the potential for conflict during face to face meetings. The goal of parallel parenting is to reduce conflict and move forward, leading to a healthy co-parenting relationship.
